Belgian Tervuren - Richard & Tamera Lewis

Ch. Esoteric's Trick or Treat, C.D., R.A.

Circe (Greek for sorceress), was born on Halloween, 2003. She was bred by Teresa Nash, of De Soto, Kansas. Her sire was Best in Show Ch. Sunset's Orion After Dark, who has a number of agility and obedience titles. Her dam was Ch. One Warrior's Esoteric Fantasy, C.D.

Circe is a very bright dog. She was heeling off lead after less than ten on lead sessions. I have trained a number of Tervuren, but I have never had one transition to off-lead heeling that fast. I showed her in rally at the WSOTC trial in Seattle a couple of years ago in the novice class. She took first place both days with scores of 99 out of 100 points.

Circe finished her championship during those first years as well. She has been shown at the national specialty 3 times.

I started training her for agility, but suspended that due to a training accident. She was working indoors on the dog walk. The trainer told me to change the way I was holding my left hand while Circe was on top of the dog walk. Circe followed my hand right off the walk and landed on her head on the mat below. I rushed her to the emergency veterinarians. I thought we were going to lose her. Fortunately, she had a concussion and recovered quickly. However, due to my desire to have her bred to Exeter, I have limited performance work to herding and obedience. Circe is currently training for her open obedience title.
